My last few days here have been very emotional. I tried SO hard not to cry today when I left my kids, but those who know me well enough know that this is pretty much impossible for me to do. As I was hugging my kids I think I saw some tears in their eyes which made it that much harder to hold it in! This was the longest I've been with a group and they were all SO wonderful. I don't think I could have asked for a better bunch of kids to spend my student teaching experience with.
Yesterday, I spent the morning deep cleaning the apartment then I went in just for the afternoon for a going away/birthday celebration! I walked into the classroom to find balloons, a fruit platter, and GORGEOUS cake (HOME MADE!)! Compliments of two of the most WONDERFUL parent volunteers I think I could have ever asked for! If only I could take them with me to my future classroom :)
When the kids came in from recess, they had me sit at the front of the room and they all asked me about my favorite things. Some things they asked were:
"What is your favorite video game?" (Mario Kart)
"What is your favorite Nikelodeon show?" (Uhh.....well it WAS Rugrats...)
"What is your favorite LAND animal?" (Flamingo)
"What is your favorite game?" (Life)
And many others. Some more interesting than others :)
After that, they made me a birthday book that included some of my favorite things! I also received goodbye cards from all of them (which almost made me cry, but somehow didn't!) and a scrapbook with pictures from the past few months.

For my very last day, we went on a field trip to the Heidelberg Zoo! We were worried about the weather because the forecast said it was supposed to rain ALL day. We got lucky though and it only drizzled a little bit on and off!
Here are some pictures from the trip:
Do you see the baby on her tummy?????
Can you see why I'm going to miss them so much?????
