For one of my last days, I planned a SUPER fun activity! (When I say "I planned" I really mean I found the idea online and "stole" it...same thing right?!?!) We were learning about contractions, so the kids got to be surgeons for the day and perform contraction surgery! They came in from lunch and had to wash their hands, put on gloves and masks. Then they had to take phrases like "I am" and "We are," cut them up and tape them back together as contractions. While they were doing this I found a video on youtube of a heart monitor like you would see in an ER to get the full effect :) It was a blast!
